How to See Who Doesn’t Follow You Back on Instagram

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Instagram doesn’t show a list of people who don’t follow you back. But you can officially download your own followers and following lists and compare them to find everyone who doesn’t follow you back in minutes. Here is the safe method that never asks for your password.

Instagram unfollowersSee who doesn’t follow you back, your sent follow requests and who you unfollowed.

Step 1: Download your followers list from Instagram

  1. 1Go to your profile on Instagram and open “Accounts Center” from the ☰ menu.
  2. 2Tap “Your information and permissions” → “Export your information” → “Create export”.
  3. 3Choose your Instagram account and “Export to device”.
  4. 4Under “Customize information”, tick only “Followers and following”.
  5. 5Set the date range to “All time”, the format to “JSON”, and start the export.
Selecting only the followers section keeps the file tiny, so it’s usually ready within minutes.

Step 2: Upload the file to the unfollowers tool

Instagram notifies you when the file is ready. Drop the downloaded ZIP onto our free unfollowers tool. The tool reads the file only in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

You’ll see who doesn’t follow you back, followers you don’t follow, your pending follow requests and the accounts you recently unfollowed, each in its own tab.

Avoid apps that ask for your password

  • “Unfollower” apps that ask for your Instagram password can take over your account or post spam.
  • Instagram may treat third-party logins as suspicious activity and restrict your account.
  • The official data export needs no password and is completely safe for your account.
